Problems and Goals

Keywords: user-friendly, portable, cost-effective

Target users: any dance and fitness instructors, 25-50 years old

Problems: Instructors spend majority of their time on managing logistics and organizing for the class rather than actually teaching. They need a platform that is user-friendly to manage administrative tasks for their courses.
Needs:
1. Clients need a video platform for live streaming and on-demand virtual workout classes.
2. Clients need to be able to track attendance, check homework and record their classes quickly and easily.
3. Clients need a streamlined and easily manageable that tracks and processes any billing and payment needs.
4. Clients need a built-in feature to access client profiles, schedule meetings and measure performance.
5. Clients need additional features that would support and advance their sales pipeline and attract new clients.

Goals:
With this platform, clients will be able to:
1. Easily manage their courses.
2. Quickly generate reports on client performances and progress, review homework, and manage client data, including payments.

Activities:
1. Interviewed 3 dance teachers and studio managers to gather inputs on their challenges with their current management platforms.
2. Usability tests on wireframes

Main Takeaways:
1. There are certain requirements that are specific to this industry, such as the ability to collect waivers and emergency contact, offer dynamic pricing structures and discounts, organize class rosters accordingly, and gather information on their previous experiences.
2. Data needs to be easily organizable and easily accessible to all users so that they can review homework and assignments, track attendance, organize studio finances, and store student data.
3. It is user-friendly in ways that provide immediate feedback to users, send alerts, confirm to begin Livestream, and cancel recurring classes.

Future Additions
1. While the current version of the platform is designed mainly for instructors, there is a need for a separate, mirrored version for administrators such as studio owners in the near future.
2. There should be a user-friendly service and similar platform available that are linked to Groove for students as well.
3. Hybrid instruction options and various methods of payment should be available for students in response to ever-changing needs as a result of the pandemic.
4. Allow instructors to customize reports that would best serve their needs to provide individualized support and instruction for their audience.
5. Marketing strategies and insights should be generated and added automatically into the reporting area to serve the tastes of the customers.
